19 strains of C. jejuni and 2 of C. coli were isolated from 21 (3.3%) of 638 faecal samples collected during 16 months (September 1982 to December 1983) from clinically healthy slaughter cattle. C. jejuni was especially isolated during the months September to December, but not at all during April to August. C. coli was found only once in October and once in June.
