Four trees in a 53-yr-old, SO2-damaged stand in E. Germany were felled in 1983: (a) slightly or (b) moderately damaged and (c), (d) dead standing trees. Studies were made on discs taken at 1 m intervals from butt to top end of stems. Growth diagrams and location of insect pest/fungal attack are shown for each stem.
