Soybean variety tolerance to metribuzin and relationship to yield

The effects of metribuzin on visual crop injury and seed yield of 22 soyabean were studied in 1981-2. Visual crop injury ranged from 6 to 24 and 11 to 55%, resp., with 1.12 and 1.68 kg metribuzin/ha but was not significant with 0.56 kg/ha. Seed yield was significantly reduced in only 1 of 33 comparisons with 1.12 kg metribuzin/ha and in 12 of 33 comparisons with 1.68 kg/ha.
