Special problems of the USLA: soil erodibility

US Department of Agriculture, Science and Education Administration, Agricultural Reviews and Manuals, Western Series (26): 63-72

The sources of present K values and their experimental determination are reviewed in some detail. Some independent evaluations of K values from natural runoff and rainfall simulation studies are examined. These results require very careful analysis. The data for established K values came from plots that were not unit plots. Benchmark values from fallow plots resulted from very short periods of record; the periods of record were not provided for cropped plots.
