Stage and part of sorghum earhead preferred for oviposition by sorghum earhead bug

Field-cage studies in India indicated that the pre-flowering stage of sorghum heads was preferred for oviposition by females of the mirid Calocoris angustatus. In the initial stages of the earhead, the top portion was preferred, and as growth progressed the pre-flowering portion towards the bottom of the earhead was preferred.
