Nearly all of 391 strains were resistant to tetracycline and streptomycin, and 30-80% were resistant to sulphonamides, nitrofurantoin, carbenicillin and ampicillin. Half of 90 strains were capable of transferring resistance to E. coli strain ML1410, including five strains which were resistant to 6 drugs.
