Study of the polymorphism of gliadins in some wheat varieties by means of one-dimensional and two-dimensional electrophoresis

Polyacrylamide and starch gel electrophoresis of the grain gliadins in 6 varieties and F2 hybrids from crosses involving these varieties revealed that the gliadin components are inherited in blocks, the number of components being the same in each type of gel but their distribution depending on the gel used. No evidence was found for a loss of any component in the hybrid which was present in the parents.
