Study on in vitro propagation of F1 hybrid, self-incompatible line and male sterile line of cabbage (Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata)

Study on in vitro propagation of F1 hybrid, self-incompatible line and male sterile line of cabbage (Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata)

Cruciferae Newsletter 10: 96

Explants from seedlings of the F1 hybrid Jingfeng 1, self incompatible (SI) line Huangmiao-7880-1-5-2-15-9 and cytoplasmically male sterile (CMS) line m8240-1-7-2 were cultured on Murashige & Skoog media with different concentrations of NAA and BA. After incubation and 4 successive subcultures the F1 tissue produced 34 032 shoots in 99 days and CMS tissue produced 25 344 shoots in 108 days on medium with 2 mg BA/litre. SI tissue on medium with 4 mg BA/litre produced 12 267 shoots in 90 days.
