The Homebuddies - seniors helping seniors

The Homebuddies - seniors helping seniors

Journal of Leisurability 12(1): p.44

In the municipality of St. Mary's, Guysborough County, Canada, a group of seniors are spending much of their leisure time planning and administering recreation programmes for the area's less fortunate elderly. The "Homebuddies" were formed in October 1984, with the purpose of providing consistent, quality leisure programmes to the residents of a nursing home. Convincing people to visit the elderly is only part of the Homebuddies job.
