There was no significant difference in milk yield, milk composition, rumen volatile fatty acids, rumen pH, or blood Mg or Ca between groups of 5 cows given diets with concentrate and roughage DM 9:11 in which as main roughage grass silage was replaced by maize silage abruptly or over a period of a week.
