Abstract
Propagation in Murashige and Skoog medium with different concentrations of IAA, NAA, IBA and 2,4-D was studied. Proliferation was best with low auxin concentrations, notably with 0.01 mg/litre IAA which gave a proliferation rate of 7.6 in the presence of 0.01 mg/litre GA3 and 0.5 mg/litre BA. All the shootlets formed roots within 3 weeks in the presence of 1 mg/litre auxin, NAA being most and 2,4-D least effective; concentrations of mineral salts except Fe were halved and no BA was included in the rooting medium.
