In a 3-year study Dorata di Parma onion bulbs were planted in November or February at 14.28, 7.24 or 4.76/msuperscript 2, and data are tabulated on the effect of year, planting date and spacing on seed production per ha, per plant and per umbel, and number of umbels per plant. Effect of treatments on germination rate are shown graphically. The results show that seed production and quality were very much influenced by seasonal conditions and water availability, especially during flowering.
