The lying behaviour of veal calves in different housing systems



Proceedings of the International congress on Applied ethology in farm animals, Kiel, 1984: -195



The development of lying behaviour in crates 70 cm wide was compared with that in group pens. Lying behaviour was recorded during the fattening period, together with frequency of different lying postures of the rump and head as a percentage of total lying frequency.
