The mapping of important farmland using remote sensor and socioeconomic variables

The mapping of important farmland using remote sensor and socioeconomic variables

Remote sensing of earth resources Volume VIII: 103-131

A method of mapping current and potentially important farmland using remote sensing data, digital image processing technology and selected socioeconomic data is described. Building upon the Soil Conservation Service (SCS) plan to map 'Prime and Unique" farmland using specific soil quality parameters, other variables of both a physical and socioeconomic nature are incorporated in a pilot mapping scheme.
