The mode of action and basis of selectivity of diflufenican in wheat, barley and selected weed species

The uptake and movement of 14C-diflufenican applied to roots and leaves of Triticum aestivum Flanders, Hordeum vulgare Triumph, Setaria viridis, Stellaria media, Viola arvensis and Galium aparine and its metabolism were investigated. Root-applied diflufenican was transported to all plant parts and accumulated at the leaf tips. The rapidity of uptake of leaf-applied herbicide decreased in the order V. arvensis > S. viridis = S. media > Galium aparine > barley > wheat.
