The possible existence of variability in Helminthosporium turcicum incitant of leaf blight of maize in India

The possible existence of variability in Helminthosporium turcicum incitant of leaf blight of maize in India

Current Science, India 53(22): 1209-1210

The reactions between 5 isolates of H. turcicum and 3 resistant and 2 susceptible maize cultivars were determined in the field. The isolate from Mandya was the most virulent. Two isolates from maize in Hyderabad differed in virulence, one being similar to that from Sikkim and the other resembling an isolate from sorghum in Hyderabad in its virulence pattern.
