The quality of insemination of queen honey bees mated under commercial conditions

The quality of insemination of queen honey bees mated under commercial conditions

American Bee Journal 124(5): 385-387

An experiment was conducted to test the quality of queen honeybee insemination under commercial conditions where drone populations were possibly a limiting factor. Queen cells produced from one queen were introduced into nucleus colonies of 5 queen breeding operations in California, USA, and two control apiaries where drones were abundant.
