Use of aluminium panels to evaluate the result of a voluntary interruption of larvicide treatments, in the dry season, within an area of the Onchocerciasis Control Programme in the Volta Basin

Cahiers ORSTOM, Entomologie Medicale et Parasitologie 22(3): 185-190

Variations in density between newly emerged adults, males, non-gravid and gravid females of Simulium damnosum and S. sirbanum were traced by trapping on aluminium panels coated with adhesive and placed beside waterfalls during 3 months of the dry season when larval control measures had been suspended in an area of the Onchocerciasis Control Programme in the Volta Basin (Ivory Coast).
