Vegetative propagation and its advantages in eggplant (Solanum melongena L.)
A method is described which enables parental lines of F1 hybrids to be maintained in a genetically pure state. It also ensures that resistance to such diseases as Phomopsis fruit rot, which are polygenically controlled, is maintained, allowing "nucleus" seed production of resistant varieties.
