Ventilation drying of lucerne plots using air pre-heated by sun-trap

, : Ventilation drying of lucerne plots using air pre-heated by sun-trap. Mezogazdasagi Technika 25(7): 2-3

Lucerne hay of 30-35% moisture content can be baled with 6-8% leaf loss. This is acceptable compared to the 35-40% loss with field dried lucerne. Its disadvantage is that big bales of high moisture content cannot be immediately stored. The ventilation equipment described for big lucerne bales removes the excess moisture using solar energy.
