Vertical distribution of the anopheline mosquitoes in Montenegro, Yugoslavia

, : Vertical distribution of the anopheline mosquitoes in Montenegro, Yugoslavia. Acta Veterinaria (Belgrade): 345-6: 287-293

Six species of anopheline mosquitoes were collected in domestic animal shelters at 9 sites in south-eastern Montenegro, Yugoslavia, in 1983-84. Anopheles subalpinus and A. sacharovi were the most abundant species at Zoganjsko Blato, a marshy plain with brackish water at an altitude of 3 m. The plain of Skadar Lake, at 5-10 m appeared to offer the most varied habitats for mosquitoes, and A. claviger, A. maculipennis, A. messeae, A. subalpinus and A. superpictus were found there.
