Vesicular stomatitis in pronghorn antelope: serologic survey and artificial infection
Vesicular stomatitis is endemic in parts of North America and occasional epidemics occur. Arthropod parasites may aid its transmission. This paper reports examination of 139 serum samples from pronghorn antelope (Antilocapra americana) which had been killed by hunters in Colorado in 1982. 83 (60%) had neutralizing antibodies to vesicular stomatitis virus serotype New Jersey of which 20 also had antibodies to serotype Indiana.
