Viscoplastic properties of wheat stems
Internal damping, represented by the logarithmic decrement in the resonance frequencies measured dynamically in freshly cut stems, was calculated for each of 10 varieties. Significant intervarietal differences were found. Low values contribute to lodging resistance.
