Vitality and productivity of chickens fed on diets devoid of animal material
From 67 days of age group 1 pullets were fed on a diet containing protein from cereals, oilmeals, hydrolysed yeast, grass meal, fish meal and meat-and-bone meal. A 2nd group was given a diet similar to that for group 1 except that it lacked animal protein. The diet of the 3rd group was of ground cereals, grass meal and bran. All the diets were supplemented with minerals, cystalline lysine and methionine plus cystine. Average liveweight at 150 days old was 1541, 1627 and 1662 g.
