Vitamin A, retinol-binding protein, prealbumin, carotene, high-density lipoprotein and total cholesterol in plasma of healthy women

Bollettino della Societa Italiana di Biologia Sperimentale 61(2): 287-295

ISSN/ISBN: 0037-8771

Mean vitamin A and carotene in plasma of 40 healthy women, 20 to 70 years old, were 43.0 and 231.9 mu g/100 ml. Retinol-binding protein (RBP), prealbumin (PA) and total and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol were 4.2, 29.4, 179.0 and 57.0 mg/100 ml. Vitamin A in plasma was significantly related to RBP and PA but not to the other indices.
