Vitellogenin and vitellin of Musca domestica. Quantification and synthesis by fat bodies and ovaries

Vitellogenin and vitellin of Musca domestica. Quantification and synthesis by fat bodies and ovaries

Insect Biochemistry 151: 77-84

Laboratory studies in Brazil showed that vitellogenin and vitellin of Musca domestica are composed of about 5 subunits with apparent molecular weights of 54 000, 52 000, 51 000, 48 000 and 46 000. The native vitellogenin and vitellin were not studied and therefore the relationship between the subunits and the native proteins is not known.
