Yield, yield components and nutritional attributes of cultivated sesame, S. indicum and its endemic wild relatives in Nigeria

In a study of yield and 7 of its components in 3 Sesamum indicum accessions, yield was positively and significantly correlated with plant height and number of capsules/plant. Data are tabulated on seed chemical composition and leaf mineral composition for S. indicum, S. angustifolium and S. radiatum, and on seed protein amino acid composition for S. angustifolium and S. indicum. S. angustifolium had lower crude protein and oil content than S. indicum, but both had a high methionine content.
