Assessment of direct-drilling systems for control of red rice in irrigated rice

The results of trials during 1982-86 on weed control in irrigated rice using direct-drilling systems are discussed. Although weed control, including red rice and Echinochloa crus-galli, was superior with direct-drilling, panicle numbers and the yield of paddy were higher with conventional tillage.
