Assessment of group meters of dairy milk

Assessment of group meters of dairy milk

Mechanizace Zemedelstvi 36(12): 537-540

Four categories of group meters were assessed both in dairy farms and in laboratory conditions: 1. meters with tilt over cups; 2. meters with a reed relay; 3. meters in the vacuum chamber and 4. meters with connected vessels. Water was used in the experiments to eliminate the possible distortion of results by varying density of milk. The tests showed that all meters worked satisfactorily up to 3 litres/min flow; fourth category of meters did not work well for flows of 6 litres/min.
