Assessment of intravenous johnin test in diagnosis of paratuberculosis in goats

Assessment of intravenous johnin test in diagnosis of paratuberculosis in goats

Indian Journal of Animal Sciences 57(9): 974-976

Seven of 14 adult female Pashmina goats were positive for Johne's disease in allergic and faecal tests. All goats received 0.5 ml johnin i/v Most of the paratuberculous goats showed malaise, anorexia, pyrexia and hyperpnoea; one had diarrhoea and was recumbent, and one developed nasal discharge. Rectal temperature reached 41.3 to 41.7 degrees C with a peak rise of 2.0-4.1 degrees C at 3 hours.
