Assessment of partial resistance to blast in lowland rice cultivars



Phytopathology 76(10): 1105



The partial resistance of 6 cultivars was assessed in the greenhouse using specific isolates of Pyricularia oryzae and in upland nursery experiments by means of Marchetti's miniplot technique. IR36, Milyang 30 and Milyang 42, which have consistently shown relatively little field disease, had a lower relative disease efficiency and smaller lesions with a lower sporulation capacity than IR50, Milyang 57 and Suweon 264.
