Assessment of resistance to peanut black hull

Phytopathology 76(10): 1089

Arachis hypogaea cultivars identified as apparently field resistant to Thielaviopsis basicola were subjected to replicated field trials for 3 consecutive years. The South African breeding line 52G25 and the US line 3286 were the most resistant. A10DPL, with intermediate resistance, and 52G25 were crossed with the variety Sellie, and the resulting progenies assessed in the greenhouse using an attached-pod inoculation technique.
