Assessment of sunflower hybrids with respect to natural infection of the head by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum

A description is presented of the design of field trials using controlled natural infection of hybrids to assess their resistance. Data are tabulated from trials over a number of years and localities and involving >30 hybrids; parental effects were significant.
