Assessment of the clinical status of children aged from 0 to 4 years in an urban district of Abidjan

The health status of 653 children aged from 0 to 4 years (mean age 20 months) from the Abobo district of Abidjan, Ivory Coast, was investigated in the summer of 1985. 2.9% had a history of malaria and 48% were receiving antimalarials, prophylactically in the majority of the cases. 21% were given a regular wide-spectrum anthelmintic.
