Assessment of tree stress by airborne multi-spectral scanning data

Assessment of tree stress by airborne multi-spectral scanning data

Journal of the Japanese Forestry Society 70(2): 45-56

Multi-spectral scanner (MSS) data were collected on 18 Oct. 1980 from 1000 m above ground over a heavily used road near Kyoto in an attempt to detect foliage damaged by air pollution (mainly from engine exhausts). The concn. of NO2, SO3, S content and MSS spectral reflectance patterns of foliage, and dust on the leaves were recorded on the ground at 44 points.
