In trials in the Taichung area, maize Tari 351 and TN5 were sown in mid-Nov. 1983 or late Feb. or late Sep. 1984. Av. grain yields for the 3 sowing dates were 6.57, 7.84 and 9.64 t/ha, resp., in Tari 351 and 4.26, 5.67 and 7.78 t for TN5.
