Association analysis for dry matter production and distribution in sorghum

Twelve varieties and advanced lines of sorghum were studied for grain yield/plant and 6 dry matter production components. Grain yield was correlated with dry matter accumulation in the root, stem, leaf and panicle. Path analysis showed that panicle dry matter had the greatest effect on grain yield. Height was negatively correlated with yield but had a positive direct effect on it.
