Association between yield and ecological stability in vegetable crop varieties

Varieties of the following crops were studied at several sites in Byelorussia: 7 cabbage (4 sites, 1982-83), 5 onion (4 sites, 1983-84), 11 cucumber and 5 tomato (6 sites, 1983) and 3 beetroot (5 sites, 1982; 6 sites, 1983). Yield tended to be independent of stability, and it was possible to combine high yield and good stability in a single genotype.
