Association of biochemical characteristics of the leaves and fruit in apple hybrids and the possibility of their use in selection

Close correlations were found between leaf and fruit contents of total sugars (r = 0.36) and organic acids (r = 0.423). The sugars/acids coefficient of the leaves was correlated with that of the fruit (r = 0.455) and with fruit flavour score (r = 0.739).
