Association of some polygenic characters with leaf morphology in inter racial crosses of G. hirsutum L

Seven varieties of Gossypium hirsutum race latifolium were crossed as seed parents with race palmeri, the latter being characterized by laciniate leaves (superokra). In the F1, okra leaf was dominant; 3 phenotypes were observed in the F2, namely normal, okra (heterozygous) and superokra. In the F3, normal types had the most bolls/plant and highest seed cotton yield/plant, and had normal height and boll weight.
