Associations of clay minerals as related to soil environments in Florida

Associations of clay minerals as related to soil environments in Florida

Proceedings, Soil and Crop Science Society of Florida 46: 103-106

Soils data generated through the Florida Soil Characterization Program were used to study relationships between clay mineralogy and soil environment. Samples were grouped according to selected criteria which reflected environmental conditions of the horizons sampled, including base saturation, relative depth, colour (as an indication of reducing conditions), horizon designation, presence or absence of sand grain coatings, taxonomic class, and texture.
