Associations of collective interests (AIC) in the oasis of Gabes province

Associations of collective interests (AIC) in the oasis of Gabes province

Cahiers de l' IRA, Institut des Regions Andes, Tunisia (2): 19

Ways of developing agriculture in the oasis of Gabes are examined; the associations of collective interest (AIC) covered 2970 ha in 1984 and included 7160 members. Though these figures reveal the impact of these AIC, this mode of production has not yet been sufficient to avoid the problems particular to the hydraulic infrastructure in this oasis.
