Atoxoplasma (Lankesterella) columbae sp. nov. in the domestic pigeon Columba livia in Assiut Province (with one figure)

Assiut Veterinary Medical Journal 17(34): 95-97

A. (Lankesterella) columbae n.sp. is described from the lymphocytes and monocytes of 5 of 88 domestic pigeons from Assiut, Upper Egypt. The sporozoites are distinguished by an average length of 3.38 micro m and an average width of 1.04 micro m.
