In greenhouse screening tests, Panicum virgatum, Bothriochloa ischaemum var. ischaemum and Calamovilfa longifolia had most tolerance to atrazine, Schizachyrium scoparium and Sorghastrum nutans were intermediate and Bouteloua curtipendula and B. gracilis showed least tolerance. The effects of atrazine on leaf fluorescence were investigated for use in screening for atrazine tolerance. A floating leaf disc test did not differentiate between plants of different atrazine sensitivity.
