Atriplex species and other shrubs in range improvement in North Africa

Atriplex species and other shrubs in range improvement in North Africa

Forage and fuel production from salt affected wasteland: 151-158

N. African halophytic rangelands are described. Aspects of salt affected rangelands discussed include: geomorphology, soils, vegetation (gypsophilous and halophilous) and pastoral value. The role of Atriplex in rangeland improvement is outlined with reference to local and introduced species and Atriplex plantations in N. Africa.
