Attempt of determining the intervention steaming time in the process of drying beech and oak wood

Intervention or compensatory steaming here refers to a high humidity treatment in the kiln at the end of the kiln run. Beech and oak lumber were kiln-dried after air seasoning to 23-35% m.c. or (beech only) while still green. The distribution of internal stresses, m.c. and MOE was determined by the author's method. Casehardening was always present after kiln drying.
