Attempts to develop a non-destructive optical method for measuring the ripeness of Magyar Kajszi apricots

Attempts to develop a non-destructive optical method for measuring the ripeness of Magyar Kajszi apricots

Acta Alimentaria 14(2): 125-138

In 2 cropping years, the diffuse transmission spectra of 500 fruits were registered, and regression calculations were made to establish correlations between transmission values and data from sensory evaluation; calibration equations were then derived from these calculations. The correlation coefficients ranged from 0.84 to 0.93 for individual fruits and from 0.934 to 0.988 for group averages.
