Attributes of the livestock slaughter sector in Georgia in the mid-1980s

Red meat production in Georgia, USA, is derived from the slaughter of bovine animals (cattle and calves) and pigs. Buildings and equipment used for livestock slaughter and meat production in Georgia are relatively dated, with few large modern plants in operation. Cured and processed pork, and deboned beef are the more important red meat products produced in Georgia slaughter plants. Deboned beef is derived largely from cull cow slaughter and utilized in the hamburger and processed meat trade.
