Atypical ova of Trichuris from sheep

Atypical ova of Trichuris from sheep

Byulleten' Vsesoyuznogo Instituta Gel' mintologii im KI Skryabina (42): 83

Trichuris ova measuring 0.099 - 0.105 x 0.047 - 0.053 mm recovered from the faeces of sheep in the Moldavian SSR, were considerably larger than the size range for T. ovis and T. skrjabini. Careful examination of 100 T. skrjabini females collected on various farms showed 7% of the females to contain large eggs.
