Australia's food aid policy to Africa

Australia's food aid policy to Africa

Working Paper, National Centre for Development Studies, Australian National University (87/1): 44

Australia's food aid policy to Africa is outlined, distinguishing between emergency food aid, which is targeted on those groups who lack the purchasing power to commmand an adequate diet, and development food aid, which is seen as a resource transfer to be used for improving food security. The objectives of the aid are found to have followed a mixture of humanitarian, commercial and political concerns.
